Stars On A Mission

VCAL (Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning) is a hands-on option for students in Years 11 and 12. VCAL gives students practical work-related experience, as well as literacy and numeracy skills and the opportunity to build personal skills that are important for life and work.

The VCAL program has been running at Star of the Sea College for the past four years. We have been proud to partner with many community organisations and have been involved in a number of Outreach and Social Justice initiatives.

In 2017 the VCAL team at Star of the Sea College started Stars on a Mission to promote Sacred Heart Mission Opportunity Shops to the broader community.

This year, in 2018,  Stars on a mission is focused on raising funds and awareness for the Brigidine Asylum Seeker Project.

As a cohort we have explored the problems and issues effecting Asylum seekers in our country and community. BASP  works with, and for, people seeking asylum both in detention and in the community.

We have completed an enterprise program launching a range of businesses and products. All proceeds from the sale of these products will go directly to BASP.
