Buy Life To Help A Life

A new product on the market “Sweet Stems” has been designed and created by myself, Alysha Vass. I am extremely passionate about Interior Design and I love all things colourful. Because of this I have decided to launch a product which will be a cute addition to anyone’s home. I have hand painted and designed my own pots and added a cute succulent.

Victorian Certificate Of Applied Learning (VCAL) has taught me how to start up my own small business and I will be selling pot plants at the Elwood market. If you’re wondering what VCAL is, it is much

more hands on learning but sits next to VCE. VCAL allows students to choose a vocational interest and study it every Wednesday at Technical and Further Information (TAFE). I  chose to study Interior Design and Decoration as I have always loved picking out new furnishing for my family home. I have also always enjoyed going to auctions to see different types of homes and how they are styled. This TAFE course has allowed me to expand my knowledge and complete certificate 3.

Because of my studies, I have decided to create stylish pots which I will then sell at the Elwood market. The pots will range from $10-$15 and the designs on them are quite simple. The pots are spray painted black or white and then I painted over the top with different coloured baby paints. Does this sound like a good gift to give someone? It’s an easy gift with a little personality and you can personalise it yourself when you get home. You can do this by adding a stick in the soil and writing a little card if you’re wanting to give it as a small gift.

All the proceeds that are made will then go straight to charity. The charity that the money will be going to is called BASP. I know you’re probably wondering what BASP is so let me tell you…..  The Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project is an organisation that runs to support refugees and asylum seekers, they provide hospitality and practical support for these individuals and family.

If you’re interested please come along to the Elwood Market on the 3rd of November and support our cause.
